George Callard serves as the president of The Weather Channel television network (Weather). In this role, Callard leads the company’s corporate functions including legal, finance, tax, human resources and facilities, as well as government affairs and programming.
Callard joined Weather in 2011 as senior vice president of legal and business affairs. In that role, Callard was the legal advisor for the internal team responsible for the distribution of The Weather Channel content via cable, satellite and telecommunications operators and other content distribution partners. Callard joined Weather from NBC Universal where he served as vice president of legal and business affairs, responsible for all legal matters affecting delivery and distribution of NBCU content. This included serving as lead counsel for Olympics, Bravo, Oxygen and NBC Network retransmission consent.
Previously, Callard had two tenures with AT&T (SBC & Ameritech), most recently as senior counsel. Earlier in his career he served as counsel and assistant secretary. Callard also served as senior counsel at the law firm Cinnamon Mueller and associate counsel for Multimedia Cablevision.
Callard received his JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and has a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor's degree from Union College.
