Jen Carfagno

Jen Carfagno is co-host of AMHQ (“America’s Morning Headquarters”) weekdays from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. ET (7–11 a.m. PT) on The Weather Channel television network. She also co-hosts WeatherGeeks, The Weather Channel’s podcast for weather enthusiasts.

For more than 25 years, Jen has covered every type of extreme weather, from blizzards and ice storms to hurricanes and tornadoes, both in the studio and out in the field. She’s battled high winds, torrential rain, and bitter cold, all while helping viewers understand the science behind the storm. Jen also loves showcasing the best side of weather in events, from Groundhog Day celebrations to total solar eclipses.

Jen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Penn State in 1998 - a year after interning at The Weather Channel. She began her career behind the scenes in the meteorology department, creating graphics, forecasting, and helping modernize weather alert systems. Jen later joined the network’s on-camera apprentice program, where she built her broadcast skills while contributing to First Outlook, Your Weather Today, Morning Rush, Wake Up With Al, and Weekend View. She went on to co-anchor America’s Morning Headquarters from 5–9 a.m. ET for six years alongside Stephanie Abrams and Jim Cantore.

Beyond her on-air work, Jen has served as a liaison between the Meteorology Science & Strategy Department and key partners including the National Weather Service and EPA’s AIRNow program. She also helped lead The Weather Channel’s nationwide Weather Camps, inspiring students to explore science and meteorology.

Jen’s work has earned numerous honors, including recognition as a Game-Changing Talent in the 2023 Cynopsis Media Top Women in Media Awards. She was inducted into the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center’s Weather Hall of Fame in 2019, and served as field reporter for the Emmy-nominated coverage of Hurricane Harvey (2017) and anchor for the Emmy-winning coverage of Hurricane Helene (2024).
