Kelly Cass

On-Camera Meteorologist, Co-Host America's Weekend Headquarters

Kelly Cass is an on-camera meteorologist at The Weather Channel who first appeared on air at the network in January 2000.  She can now be seen every Saturday and Sunday morning from 6-9 a.m. ET on America's Weekend Headquarters and also fills in during the week.

Before joining The Weather Channel, she was the morning weekday meteorologist at WRGB-TV, the CBS affiliate in Schenectady, NY, where she worked for seven years. While working at WRGB, she was awarded the New York State Broadcasting Award for "best storm coverage" during the blizzard of 1993. She began her career as associate producer and later, weeknight weather weathercaster at WTZA-TV (now WRNN), an independent station in Kingston, NY.

Among her special reports for The Weather Channel, Cass has presented a feature about being selected for a flight in an F-A 18 jet of the Blue Angels unit of the U.S. Navy.

Cass earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Adelphi University on Long Island N.Y. She also holds a certificate of international study from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She holds the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association, a broadcast meteorologist certificate from Mississippi State University.

A native of Poughkeepsie, she has a special interest in lake effect snow and winter storms. She is also fascinated by all extreme weather including tropical systems.

Cass was a big athlete growing up, playing varsity soccer, softball and volleyball. While in Korea, she studied tae kwon do, achieving her red belt. She still enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, biking, and skiing. She and her husband have three children.
