The Weather Channel Companies(TWCC) today announced that Betsy Rella has been named vice president, ad sales research. Based in New York, Rella will be responsible for the full spectrum of ad sales research efforts to help position and differentiate TWCC platforms in the ad marketplace. Rella will oversee the cable and digital ad sales research teams and will report to Indira Venkat, senior vice president, strategic research & consumer insights, The Weather Channel Companies.

A 20-year veteran of the media industry, Rella brings a valuable perspective from both the vendor and publisher side of the business. A Betsy Magness graduate, she most recently served as senior vice president, Ipsos OTX MediaCT at Ipsos, where she was responsible for business development and custom research efforts for media publishers and distributors.
Before joining Ipsos, Rella spent nine years at Lifetime Entertainment Services, where she oversaw ad sales and digital media research efforts for Lifetime and the Lifetime Movie Network. Prior to her role at Lifetime, Rella's other previous positions included vice president, research & planning at MTV Networks and director, primetime audience analysis for Disney ABC Television Group.
Rella received a bachelor's degree in fine arts from New York University. She lives in New York with her husband and two young sons.
