BusinessWeek To Partner With The Weather Channel

Leading Publisher To Provide Insights to Viewers of The Weather Channel About How Weather Impacts Business

The Weather Channel and BusinessWeek are partnering for a new program segment that will provide viewers with the latest news about ways in which the weather is impacting the business world. Starting Jan. 23, BusinessWeek will provide several news segments each week entitled "The BusinessWeek Business Barometer" during the network's popular early morning program "First Outlook."  The segments will be taped at the NASDAQ market site in New York and will be hosted by BusinessWeek Television's Jill Bennett.

"We think we have come up with a winning combination – the leading provider of business news and the leading provider of weather information joining forces to keep viewers in the know about weather-related business matters," said Terry Connelly, senior vice president of programming and production at The Weather Channel.  "From how a cold winter will affect energy prices to the economic impact of unseasonably warm weather in Europe, the news slant on The BusinessWeek Business Barometer will target the business audience of our morning program."

"Weather impacts not just business travel, but operations, efficiency and productivity," said William P. Kupper Jr., President, BusinessWeek Group.  "We are very pleased to be partnering with the Weather Channel to provide viewers with our unique insights on how weather may affect their business."

The BusinessWeek Business Barometer will be added to weather.com's video content list as a featured video.  In addition, weather.com will link to businessweek.com as a source for business news.
