The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) today announced that Karen Marderosian has been named vice president, regional manager, Detroit ad sales. Marderosian will lead TWCC's Detroit sales office to achieve cross-platform revenue objectives for The Weather Channel and will play a key role in developing and executing the company's Michigan/Ohio regional sales strategy.
Marderosian brings a wealth of brand marketing, agency, and sales experience to the role. Most recently, she spent five years at Discovery Communications, where she was responsible for sales in the Detroit region across Discovery, Science, Military Channel, Velocity, and Investigation Discovery. Prior to that role, Marderosian spent eight years at Volkswagen, first as brand marketing model manager for several models, then as director of marketing for brand Volkswagen in the U.S. and Canada. Before joining VW, she spent nine years at D'Arcy Worldwide, moving up the ranks from AE in the Cadillac Motor Division, GM credit card, to brand marketing partner in the Pontiac-GMC Division.

Marderosian received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, and completed her graduate work in international commerce at L'Institut D'Etudes Politiques in Paris, France.
