The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) today announced that Mark Mooney has been named vice president, regional manager, cable ad sales. In this role, Mooney will be responsible for managing and developing advertising and business opportunities across The Weather Channel, weather.com, and TWCC mobile including tablets for the New York region. He will lead and develop a team of account managers within the territory and will be based in New York. Mooney will report to Chris Raleigh, senior vice president, cable and cross platform sales for TWCC.

"His extensive experience in the television industry and cross-platform space will be a tremendous asset to our team, and his strong client relationships will ensure that we drive further value for them."
Before joining TWCC, Mooney spent six years at Turner Broadcasting, most recently as an account executive for CNN Networks. There, he negotiated cross-platform deals across the CNN Networks, CNN.com and Time Inc. properties, as well as managed sponsorship opportunities within the CNN portfolio. Prior to that role, he served as an account executive for Turner Sports, where he negotiated NBA, NASCAR, MLB, PGA and college football buys, and managed sponsor relationships.
Mooney joined Turner after spending nine years at ABC and FOX in various ad sales positions.
Mooney received a bachelor's degree from Fordham University, where he played varsity football.
