Meteorologist Crystal Egger Joins The Weather Channel
(Sept. 1, 2010) -The Weather Channel® (TWC) today announced that Crystal Egger has been hired as its newest on-camera meteorologist. Most recently, Egger served as the morning meteorologist at KDVR, Fox 31News in Denver, CO. While there, she covered the 2008 Windsor tornado and has been nominated for regional Emmys for her work on weather specials.
Before joining KDVR, Egger was lead weather anchor for ABC affiliate KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls, ID, in 2005 and served as an anchor, producer and weather forecaster at Cable News 16 in San Diego, CA, in 2004. Prior to that, Egger held various off-air positions including a production assistant and news writer at News 9 KUSI and weather intern/producer at FOX 6 News, both located in San Diego.
Egger completed the meteorology program at Mississippi State University with honors and later was awarded the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Seal of Approval and the National Weather Association (NWS) Seal of Approval. Egger holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of California in Santa Barbara.
While in Denver, Egger played an active role in the community and implemented the "Storm Force Kids" program to inspire kids to learn about the weather. Born and raised in Southern California, Egger will relocate from Denver to Atlanta with her husband and daughter.
