The Weather Channel Offers First-Ever Four-Screen Premiere across TV, iPad, Online and Mobile For New Series From the Edge with Peter Lik, Premiering Thursday, March 31

The Weather Channel® Companies (TWCC) will premiere its newest original series, From the Edge with Peter Lik, Thursday, March 31, at 8 p.m. ET.  The half-hour action adventure nature series follows award-winning Master Photographer Peter Lik as he travels to the most epic U.S. landscapes while battling or embracing the weather in his quest for the perfect photograph.  For the first time ever, the show will premiere across all four of TWC's screens.  The premiere episode will air March 31 at 8 p.m. ET on The Weather Channel and will be available via an on-demand stream on weather.com online, on mobile and on The Weather Channel for iPad app. The premiere episode will also air on a New York Times Square billboard March 31 at 8 p.m. ET.

In the premiere episode, "Capture the Gods," Lik visits the Big Island of Hawaii, searching from the lush valleys to the highest peaks to capture three of The Big Island's gods and goddesses on film.  Additional episodes include the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Arches National Park and the "Big Sky Country" of Montana. The series will air on TWC Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET.
While viewing on any of the four screens, iPad users can follow along with a new iPad application, "From the Edge with Peter Lik from The Weather Channel," available from Apple App Store.  Powered by Nielsen's Media-Sync platform, the app includes audio-synced content that correlates with the show to unlock exclusive iPad content for a more interactive viewing experience. Online, weather.com will feature photos, video and behind-the-scenes footage.  Mobile consumers can access photos, information and video footage under the "Photos & Fun" section from weather.com on mobile Web.

Lik, a native of Melbourne, Australia, is one of the most awarded and collected fine art photographers in the world and is internationally acclaimed for his panoramic landscape photography that frequently highlights weather's impact.  He sells his limited-edition photography at 14 Lik Galleries worldwide, and he recently sold one of his photographs for a record $1 million.

In "From the Edge with Peter Lik," Lik reveals the country through a whole new perspective, capturing its diverse climates and natural beauty through his lens. The Weather Channel has ordered 13 episodes of the series, produced by Peacock Productions.
