Explore the Depths of Extreme Weather this February and March on The Weather Channel

Two One-Hour Specials and a New Original Series to Dive into the Elements

WHAT:          
This winter, dive into the extreme on The Weather Channel with three new premieres in February and March. Check out the “10 Most Extreme Places” with Jim Cantore, The Weather Channel meteorologist and storm tracker, as he explores locales where unpredictable weather conditions are the norm. Then tune into “Weather of Biblical Proportions” for modern-day weather events that bear resemblance to weather stories from the Bible such as Noah’s Ark and the Great Flood, Moses and the Burning Bush or Jonah at Sea.

Once you’ve had your fill of extreme weather, follow three Colorado-based backyard geniuses – a father, son and his friend – who are on a quest to build and test inventions that fight bad weather and harness its power for everyday use in the new original series, “BrainStormers.”

“10 Most Extreme Places”
“10 Most Extreme Places” is hosted by Jim Cantore, The Weather Channel meteorologist and storm tracker, as he counts down the highest to the lowest, the driest to the coldest places in the world, and everything in between! The one-hour special explores extreme places in the United States where insane weather is the norm, all the time. These are places that endure epic weather conditions, locales where just staying upright can be a challenge, and spots where one false move could be your last.

“10 Most Extreme Places” is a 60-minute special produced by The Weather Channel.

“Weather of Biblical Proportions”
Drought, earthquakes, floods, hailstorms, and tornadoes are just some of the natural phenomena that occur in both the Old and New Testaments. “Weather of Biblical Proportions” is a one-hour special that will feature Top 10 modern day weather events that are comparable to the extreme elements featured in the Bible. A team of scientists and religious scholars will examine and explore some of the most divine acts of weather is recent history. Some of the Bible stories include: Noah’s Ark and the Great Flood, Moses and the Burning Bush, Jonah at Sea, and waters turning red with blood.

“Weather of Biblical Proportions” is a 60-minute special produced by Al Roker Entertainment.

“BrainStormers”
“BrainStormers” follows three Colorado-based backyard geniuses – a father, son and his friend – who are on a quest to build and test inventions that fight bad weather and harness its power for everyday use – and do it on a budget. From their homegrown workshop, these lovable rascals tackle weather issues from across the country, sometimes starting from scratch and sometimes helping other backyard inventors improve their projects. Every build is filled with challenges, from a creating a homemade mosquito trap or solar water heater to fixing a nearby town’s wind generator, and the road to success is filled with setbacks, revelations and a lot of fun.

Featuring 8 x 60-minute episodes, “BrainStormers” is produced by Outpost Entertainment, a joint venture between veteran producer Jodi Flynn (formerly of Screaming Flea) and Leftfield Entertainment (“Pawn Stars,” “American Restoration”), and by Crybaby Media.
