Budget Travel and AMHQ Announce Partnership

Bi-Weekly Segments Give Viewers Insight to the Perfect Travel Experience

ATLANTA (April 13, 2016) – AMHQ, The Weather Channel’s flagship morning show, is pleased to announce an official content partnership with Budget Travel. The relationship, which began in 2015, has since grown into travel-focused segments every other Friday at 8:40 a.m. ET.

The segments provide viewers an edge in choosing the ideal getaway at the right time—and the most affordable way to experience it. “Budget Travel inspires viewers to get out and explore the world,” says Elaine Alimonti President and Publisher of Budget Travel. “We want to introduce the AMHQ audience to new places and new travel ideas—whether right here in the U.S. or halfway across the globe. There is a trip for every budget.”

And the meteorology experts on AMHQ share forecast knowledge, in-depth storm coverage, cutting edge graphics and unrivaled expertise to get viewers out the door and ready for their day—wherever it may take them.

The pairing of AMHQ and Budget Travel every Friday combines those strengths so viewers can make the most out of every day, every dollar and every destination.

“Even if you think an exotic location is out of your reach, we're here to show you how and when to get there, so you don't waste a day or a dime of your hard-earned vacation,” said Senior Executive Producer Angela Massie. “Weather is a crucial part of planning any vacation, so what better network for Budget Travel to have as a TV platform for their advice?”

Alimonti agrees, “One of the first questions we get asked about any potential destination is “how’s the weather?” Weather plays such a big part in travel planning that a partnership between Budget Travel and The Weather Channel’s AMHQ is a perfect match.”

Budget Travel contributors include Robert Firpo-Cappiello, editor in chief, Elaine Alimonti, president and publisher, and Jamie Beckman, senior editor. AMHQ airs daily from 5 - 9 a.m. ET on The Weather Channel.
