Barbara Bekkedahl Joins The Weather Channel TV Network as Senior Vice President of Ad Sales

ATLANTA (June 6, 2016) -- The Weather Channel television network announces that Barbara Bekkedahl has joined the company as senior vice president of ad sales. Bekkedahl joins Weather from NBCUniversal and will be responsible for all aspects of the sales team for the network. She will be based in the company’s New York office and report to chief executive officer, Dave Shull.
 
“We are thrilled for Barbara to lead the ad sales team during this exciting innovation phase for The Weather Channel,” said Shull. “Marketers continue to value our position as the most trusted brand in news and our importance to American consumers in times of severe weather.  Barbara will certainly grow our television ad business, but she also brings a vision and wealth of experience to expand our innovative OTT products such as LocalNow.”
 
In her previous role at NBCUniversal, Bekkedahl served as vice president of Client Solutions where she led business partnerships with top clients, representing NBCUniversal’s portfolio of television and digital properties. Prior to working with Client Solutions, she managed the national advertising sales team for the Bravo cable network.
 
Bekkedahl holds an BA from Colgate University and resides in Ridgewood, NJ.
