On-Camera Meteorologist
Eduardo Rodriguez brings over 25 years of experience to The Weather Channel en Espanol. For the last two decades, he served as Univision Network’s hurricane expert and Univision Miami's Chief meteorologist. Eduardo participated in well-known Spanish language network news programs like Noticiero Univision, Primer Impacto, El Gordo y la Flaca, Al Punto, and Despierta America covering severe weather, including hurricanes. He also served as a regional and local meteorologist for multiple local markets, such as, Atlanta, Raleigh, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Fresno, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, and Phoenix.
Eduardo holds geography, oceanography, and meteorology degrees from the University of Havana Academy of Sciences. He is CBM-certified and currently serves as an AMS judge of certified meteorology. Early in his career, Eduardo worked for the Department of Meteorology and Oceanography, Fishery Research Center in Havana, Cuba, where he developed and directed research projects on the tropics and led hydrometeorological scientific research voyages on Russian ships, which led him to learn the language.
Eduardo is a Suncoast Emmy Award recipient and received Keys to the City of Miami Beach in 2015 as recognition of his accurate forecasts for the community.
